In anticipation of our upcoming concert, I will be posting a recording of this year's University Singers from the University of Delaware each day until the concert.
Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols is perhaps one of his most well-known works. A collection of ancient texts he set to music while on a train, this collection of carols is available in versions for treble voices as well as mixed voices. Often, the treble version will be performed using boy's voices.
Here is the UD University Singers performing one of the carols, "This Little Babe." The entire work is scored for harp, but here we used a piano played masterfully by Wendy McNally. I love the energy the Singers bring to the piece!

If you are in the area, be sure and come to our spring concert. We will be performing works by Tarik O'Regan, Bach, Schumann, Verdi, Mendelssohn, and others. University Singers will be accompanied by Wendy McNally and the concert will also feature UD's own Noël Archambeault.
